As part of the Leaping for Literacy project, this production is inspired by "The Dear America,” “American Girl,” and “My Name is America” book series'. Click here for more info about Made in America.

In addition to our spring production each year, our Leaping For Literacy project includes an Educational Touring Company. Our educational touring company performs programs in area schools and community venues: Our repertoire currently includes several 30-45 minute productions including:
Green Legs & Ham
a multi– age Seuss-inspired show incorporating ballet, modern,
tap and jazz
The Conductors
a story of one’s families journey on the underground railroad—incorporates
ballet, modern, and some African dance movement
The Dance Along Nutcracker
a fun interactive abridged version of the Nutcracker suitable
for family friendly events and community venues.
Happily Ever After
A magical tale with an assortment of beloved fairy tale characters
whose stories and plots are intertwined for an entertaining celebration of children’s
fairy tales.
We welcome dancers from all over Greater Cincinnati. Dancers may participate in our Educational Touring Program and continue to train at the dance school of their choice. We will make our rehearsal time as minimal as possible, as we understand that families have many obligations. Rehearsals will generally be held on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons only. In the beginning, we will rehearse more often to learn the choreography. After that, we will meet 1-2 times a month to run-through and keep the repertoire fresh in our minds and bodies.
Some performances will be on weekends in various community venues. The Artists on Tour performances take place during the school day, as they are being performed for schools. Usually, we limit these in-school performances to Fridays. After casting, we will provide each dancer with a schedule of current performances. We provide a letter for our school-aged performers that may be given to their school administrators about the program and requesting that absences related to these shows be excused. We DO ask that our performers be diligent about their school work, and planning ahead for these absences. The Leaping for Literacy program is all about the value of reading to a good education, so it is important that our dancers hold their academic training in the highest regard.
